History
Rapid Rescue Products has been manufacturing wheeled stretcher carriers since Desert Storm in 1991. Wheeled stretcher carriers used in that conflict,
because of their narrow bicycle type wheels, did not perform well in soft sand and over uneven terrain. We solved this problem by using a specially
designed and patented balloon wheel and tire that could actually transport a patient over sand and uneven terrain almost like rolling on a smooth,
paved sidewalk. Our new carrier is called the "Premier Stretcher Carrier" (tm), because it is simply the top of the line.
Due to popular request we made our new Premier stretcher carrier so it can be converted from conventional wheels for smooth hard surfaces to off-road balloon wheels, simply and easily, without tools. The Premier Stretcher Carrier is a radically new concept in stretcher carriers, loaded with user-friendly advantages and exceptionally well suited for military as well as other rescue operations. We pride ourselves in making the best, most versatile, rugged, yet light weight, professional stretcher carrier in the world.
Development and Research Goals
Currently in the developmental stage is an air- transportable system that provides rapid sheltering, emergency medical facilities, evacuation and
transportation of large numbers of casualties, when earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, major hurricanes and typhoons, and other major calamities occur.
Also in the developmental stage is a system for easily and safely moving bariatric patients (500-700 lbs) without manual lifting by rescue personnel.
Other exciting new concepts are in various stages of imagineering.
